VAT Returns

Value Added Tax is a complex tax. Consequently, many businesses file incorrect returns, and pay too much or too little tax.

A business has to register for VAT if their turnover exceeds the current threshold - £85,000 in 2019/20 - a failure to do so results in penalties being imposed. A return must be submitted each quarter. If a return is filed late a surcharge liability notice will be issued and interest will be charged.

We can assist you with your VAT registration, completion of VAT returns, checking the VAT returns after you have completed them, and we can offer support during a VAT inspection visit.
